Will AI replace coders?

It doesn’t matter if AI will replace coders. What matters is that it can replace a lot of coding. The same applies to other domains where it has an impact.

Most people stuck in debates are wasting time. There is no point in debating. There is a tool that can do a lot of boring stuff faster—just use it. Like any tool in the past that helped optimize work, this too is likely to prevail, no matter what anyone thinks. The early signs are already out there.

Some have made it a debate of human vs. machine supremacy. I’d respect that if it came from experts or people with serious philosophical leanings on this subject—not from the general audience, which includes me. If you fear it’ll replace your job, be the first to use it. Learn the heck out of it. Watch YouTube tutorials, shell out some money, get licenses, and try it. If nothing else, build a simple blog.

Start anywhere. Even if it’s just building one solid prompt that optimizes a single task. You won’t believe the number of people who can’t even do that. Whether or not you lose a job, there’s no going back from the fact that you’ll have to use this tech.

So assess your position and make a choice. Debates won’t take you anywhere. Learning a tool—regardless of the job situation—will make your life easier. Choose wisely.

P.S. I’m not at all discouraging meaningful debates. But even to have those, you need some hands-on experience with the tech you're debating about. Right?
