The Real Impact of “Low Reach”

Low reach doesn’t matter 📉

I’ve been posting on LinkedIn consistently for the past one month. All original content—no clickbait, no piggybacking, no tricks or flashy posting style. This has brought me close to 6k impressions in total reach.

When viewed as just a number, 6k may not sound like much, and it can easily demotivate anyone from posting. But here’s how I look at it in terms of impact 💡

In the past one month, I’ve:
👉 Found 35–40 new engagements
👉 Connected with 55–60 new people
↪ Almost 50% of these new connections are related to product management
👉 Consistently drafted my thoughts, which I might not have done otherwise ✍️
👉 And most importantly, many colleagues I’ve spoken to in person have acknowledged, responded to, or shared their thoughts about my posts—even if they haven’t engaged with them on the platform (which I hope they do! 😊)

If this isn’t impactful, then what is?

I’m not posting these numbers to boast or invite comparisons—that would defeat the point of this post. I’m sharing them as a reminder to you (and to myself) that no progress is small, and social media is about much more than just reach.

It’s easy to look at influencers and get bogged down by comparisons. But it’s important to remember: ➡️ A reach of 10 is 10x greater than a reach of 1 (which is just you) 📢
➡️ One post written is infinitely more valuable than none 📝
➡️ One person meaningfully engaging is one real perspective beyond your own 🧠

So if you’re wondering whether anyone would notice you?
The answer is YES

If you’ve stopped posting?
Come back 🔁

If you think it's important for this message to reach more people?
Engage and share 🔄

See you on my feed! (Hopefully soon)
